System: Doce Pares Fighting Art Systems
GM Anthony Kleeman in 1994.
- Military and tactical awareness training and concepts
Pretext: A system of training that was more than an archaic “art” form; a system that could have civilian, law enforcement, military and “practical tactical” applications, a system of tactics and techniques the practitioner will ingrain in their makeup, ever ready.
…born from Filipino and Australian blood, sweat and tears…
Doce Pares Fighting Art Systems is a new take on the old ways…truly a martial art system for the 21st century…
Supreme Grand Master Cacoy Canete is often heard to state “the only constant within Eskrima is change”……and since my first meeting with him in 1986, it became apparent to me that this saying wasn’t just empty words, but in fact a personal standard by which he teaches and practices his art.
Using this pretext led me to explore and evaluate everything that I practiced and everything I was to subsequently learn; both in the Filipino Martial Arts and in other systems.
The result of this study and research has led to the evolution of Doce Pares Fighting Art Systems…this too will change over time although the core will remain true to Supreme Grand Master Cacoy Canetes modified corto kurbado system of Doce Pares Eskrima…
